Synchro: The Compact and Ergonomic Folding Bike

Revolutionizing Urban Mobility with Style and Functionality

The Synchro folding bike is a game-changer in the world of urban transportation. Designed by Alexandre Jose Goncalves Neto, this innovative folding bike combines convenience, compactness, and style to revolutionize the way we move around the city.

With the increasing popularity of bicycles as a sustainable mode of transportation, the Synchro folding bike aims to enable and facilitate the use of bicycles in everyday life. Its unique folding system allows it to be carried on public or individual transportation without taking up much space in the workplace, school, or other crowded areas.

What sets the Synchro folding bike apart from other models on the market is its maneuverability and ergonomics, which are similar to fixed bikes. The inspiration for the Synchro folding system came from the observation of insect and arachnid paws, which have joints that allow for a large retraction of their parts.

When unfolded, the Synchro folding bike is similar in size to a regular mountain bike, with wheels measuring 26 inches. However, when articulated, it becomes extremely compact and can be transported in a backpack or large bag. Alternatively, it can be driven through the handlebars, functioning like a cart.

The design of the Synchro folding bike also prioritizes lightweight materials and minimal volume. With only one tube in the handlebar and a single point of attachment in the rear wheel, the bike's weight is significantly reduced. The structure is made of aluminum encapsulated by plastic polymers, using the insert molding for plastic injection process. This combination of materials makes the bike lightweight and extremely resistant.

Operating the Synchro folding bike is simple and intuitive. To fold it, one only needs to turn the handlebar by 180 degrees, actuate the unlocking knob under the seat, and articulate the two parts of the frame. The bicycle can be moved by the handlebar like a cart, as it maintains its two wheels operable even when folded. Alternatively, it can be further compacted by turning the handlebar and carried in the backpack that comes with the set.

The Synchro folding bike was designed and realized in Sao Paulo, Brazil, starting in February 2015 and finishing in April 2016. Extensive research was conducted among users of various folding bike models to identify their desires and preferences. The Synchro folding bike aims to fulfill these desires by providing convenience, mobility, and compactness, while maintaining the ergonomics and functionality of fixed models.

The innovative design and functionality of the Synchro folding bike have been recognized with the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Vehicle, Mobility, and Transportation Design category. This award acknowledges the outstanding creativity and resourcefulness of the design, as well as its contribution to improving the quality of life and making the world a better place.

The Synchro folding bike is not just a means of transportation; it is a lifestyle statement. With its sleek design, compactness, and functionality, it is the perfect companion for urban dwellers who value style and sustainability. Get ready to revolutionize your daily commute with the Synchro folding bike.
